We see it regularly. New speakers come on the market, make claims about their tech, and then fail to back it up. Lame, but not every speaker company has the gumption we do.

You’ve likely heard the name, “Klipsch Reference Speakers” before now. That’s because these speakers are some of the most lauded in Klipsch history.

Each time a new iteration of the Reference home theater speaker series comes out, we’ve made them a little better than their respective predecessors.

The 2022 iteration is no different.

The new, high-quality Klipsch Reference speaker series delivers better sound quality, precision, clarity and effortless power. Let’s start with the tech:

Edge-to-edge Tractrix horn

Updated Tractrix Horn: Accuracy definitely counts here. A new, larger, edge-to-edge proprietary Tractrix® horn provides improved coverage, bandwidth, and directivity control. You will have enhanced control of where you want the sound to go in the room with new Reference speakers.

Reference 2022 Woofer close-up

Reimagined Woofer Design: New woofers made of Spun-Copper Thermoformed Crystal Polymer minimizes resonance for more true-to-life sound. This is actually trickle-down tech from the previous generation of Reference Premiere speakers, using steeper angling of the cones for smoother response at higher frequencies and better crossover integration for improved accuracy and transparency. In plain English, you will feel like you’re in the movie or the recording studio with the engineer. Not too shabby.

New Sleek Design: Luxury black scratch-resistant wood grain vinyl finish, hidden fasteners, upgraded binding posts, and discrete Dolby Atmos connections allow for frustration-free setup and integration. The Klipsch logo is now a black background with copper text, returning to our “Happiness is Copper and Black” roots. Okay, it just looks cool.
