When do you find yourself listening to music the most?

A: You know, in my day-to-day life outside of creating music, I typically find myself listening to music in the car or on long walks through my neighborhood. There's just something about pairing music with movement that takes it to a whole new dimension for me. I'm more present when I listen and less distracted. I also have usually blocked out that time to drive or walk, in which I'm not doing other things, and so it allows me the space to really listen without interruption.

Q: What kind of music inspires you or brightens your mood?

A: All kinds of music inspire me depending on my mood, but I have to admit there's something about a certain kind of epic, dramatic, catchy pop song that just makes you want to sing along.

It's so much fun that it's impossible not to feel brighter, even when the song is a sour subject. A good example of that for me would be the song "Getaway Car" by Taylor Swift. It's dramatic in all the best ways. My boyfriend and I have this guilty pleasure Avril Lavigne song that we sing in the car called "Wish You Were Here." "Never Really Over" by Katy Perry also has that quality, "good 4 u" by Olivia Rodrigo, and "Hell No" by Ingrid Michaelson.

These aren't necessarily my favorite songs of all time, but if we're talking about music that just pumps me up and gets me going and dancing around - it's gotta be a good, guilty pleasure, dramatic pop song that's so self-aware it's over the top. Sometimes, I feel like I'm a little too level-headed...I see all sides of many situations. I wish I were a little more dramatic in my own music.

Q: How has the way you enjoy music, movies, etc. changed since getting your Klipsch earphones?

"I am obsessed with my Klipsch earphones." - Kara Connolly

Well, first of all, it's completely changed travel for me because of the self-charging case. Usually, on long plane flights, my earphones would die midway through and I would be stuck hearing the baby crying two rows down for the rest of the ride. The self-charging case and noise cancellation are a game-changer for obnoxiously loud public settings. I now feel like I'm in my own world - I put the earphones on, and a sleep mask, and block everything out.

On top of that, the quality of sound is so nuanced and crisp. The earphones are comfortable and fit my ears so nicely due to the various pairs of ear tips...usually I hate the feel of earphones and can't keep them in for very long. The list is endless, really.

Q: Top five favorite songs or bands?

Oof. This one's hard. I'll list some that come to mind at the moment.

Taylor Swift - All Too Well

John Mayer - Stop This Train

Fleetwood Mac - Dreams

Kacey Musgraves - Oh, What A World

Earth, Wind & Fire - September

Bruce Springsteen - Dancing in the Dark

Jeff Buckley - Hallelujah
